Who we are and why we do this

Jeanett came up with this idea because of a real need for places to rest and eat in smaller destination towns in the Faroe Islands that don't currently offer these amenities in a sustainable and affordable way.

Travelling in the Faroe Islands is becoming more and more popular but at the same time it's not a demand big enough to open cafés in every town. That would also go against the ideals of this sustainable project, which are:

To facilitate authentic cultural exchange: To create meaningful connections between tourists and Faroese locals through shared meals, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation.

To empower local hosts: To create a new income stream and entrepreneurial opportunity for Faroese residents who wish to share their hospitality and culinary skills.

To promote Faroese culture & hospitality: To showcase the warmth, traditions, and unique food culture of the Faroe Islands in an intimate setting.

To enhance the tourist experience: To add a deeply personal and memorable dimension to a visitor's trip, moving beyond standard sightseeing.
